PARKHILL FAIR AMBASSADOR COMPETITION


Interested in becoming the next Parkhill Fall Fair Ambassador? 

​

Any person between the ages of 17 & 24 by July 1st is welcome to enter the Ambassador program. All you have to do to enter is send a written paragraph about yourself to parkhillambassador@gmail.com.  It must include the following:

​

  • Full name and address

  • Telephone number and email

  • Age and your birthday

  • If attending school, grade and course. If not, grade and course completed, and present occupation.

  • All activities you participate in or have participated in (school, church, community, part-time job, volunteer, 4H, etc.)

  • Please include a recent photo

 

​A social event, open to the public, will be held for the contestants at the end of July (Date to be determined). At this time the contestants will meet the judges, the Fair Ambassador committee, the Junior Ambassador contestants, and the Golden Ambassador contestants.

​

On this evening, the contestants will:

 

  • Be required to present a 2-3 minute speech on his/her choice related to agriculture and/or the fair.
     

  • Complete a quiz on his/her knowledge of the Parkhill Fair and surrounding Community (general knowledge, no sweat!)
     

  • Answer an impromptu question
     

The winner will be announced at the Opening Ceremonies of the Parkhill Fair (Friday night)

2022 Amb-past and present

​​DUTIES OF THE AMBASSADOR

​

REMEMBER ~ School is your first priority. If you are available to attend monthly meetings & community events that would be great but it's not a deciding factor in choosing who will be our ambassador for this year's Parkhill Fair.


The selected Parkhill Fair Ambassador must be able to attend the Parkhill Fair for the 3 day weekend with activities assigned throughout those 3 days.

Based on your availability throughout the duration of your reign, the following duties also include:
 

  • Attendance at our District Fair Meeting in November, to attend an ambassador workshop and meet other newly crowned ambassadors within the district.
     

  • Participation in the O.A.A.S. (Ontario Associations of Agricultural Societies) Convention in Toronto in February.
     

  • Compete in the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) Ambassador of the Fairs Competition in August the next year.

​

 

SPONSORSHIP

​

All Contestants will receive:

  • A $50 bursary from the Parkhill Agricultural Society

  • A gift from the Municipality of North Middlesex

  • A gift from Grammies Pizza

 

The Runner-Up will also receive:

  • A $250 bursary from the Parkhill Agricultural Society

  • A sash from D & M Trophies

  • A bouquet of flowers from Frontier Flowers

 

The Ambassador will also receive:

  • A $500 bursary from the Parkhill Agricultural Society

  • A tiara and sash from the Parkhill Agricultural Society

  • A bouquet of flowers from Frontier Flowers

  • 2023: Gifts from Poag Jewellers, Four Seasons, Tracy Puchala Massage, and others
